Our Service Department

This weeks blog is about our unsung heroes here at Sealand, our service team. Ewan and Kas, our technicians play a vital part in keeping everything ticking in the background which our hire/sale customers don’t get to see!
As well as dealing with servicing, calibrating and repairing our customers equipment, these pair take care of all this for our hire fleet and our sales stock. At Sealand we believe that having well maintained equipment is just as good as buying brand new, yes as the years go by new technologies are released but that’s about the only thing you can miss out on. We offer software and firmware updates as well as everything else, which enables both Sealand and its customers to run their kit until the day it just won’t switch on anymore – even then, Ewan and Kas will have a good go at bringing it back to life!
There’s a lot of liability which sits on your kit’s shoulders, we often say ‘you don’t know your kit is out of calibration until the job’s gone wrong’. BECAUSE IT’S TRUE! You have to look after your kit, if you want it to look after you. Keeping up to date with manufacturers servicing recommendations and getting your equipment in for a quick once over if it takes a knock are non-negotiables in this game.
So, what does the servicing process look like when you choose Sealand? Theres a few different options for getting your equipment in for service. You can drop it off yourself, one of our drivers can collect from you if he’s in the area, or you can send it in via courier which we can help you arrange! Our average turnaround time from booking in to completing a job, is a day to four days depending on the workload. We offer a set charge on hire equipment whilst yours is in for service should it take much longer. Our service team will always advise a rough turnaround time, as some months are busier than others. You’ll be notified of any optional work which could be completed alongside the required, and when you’ve made your choice, our team will get straight to it.
Between the two of them, there’s not much they can’t fix! This is why in 2024 we saw a huge 95% of customer jobs coming into our workshop being successfully completed. In 2024, we saw 72% of our service jobs bring repeat customers back, and we welcomed 28% new customers. Our most popular item to have booked in is a laser level, closely followed by cable location equipment, total stations and gas detectors.
Our service pricing is below, to get in contact with us please email service@sealandsurvey.co.uk, or call our office line on 01244 821777.
